Rogers

Rogers High Alumni Board

Incorporated in 1881, Rogers was built on the St. Louis and San Francisco Railroad, growing into quick prosperity from an influx of railway travelers and the emergence of a booming apple industry.

The largest city in Benton County, Rogers had a population of nearly 25,000 when the 1990 census was conducted but was estimated to have around 33,000 people in 1995. Like many towns in Northwest Arkansas, Rogers has enjoyed an influx of people moving to the area because of the strong economy and the beauty of the surrounding Ozarks. Rogers is the town nearest one of the Ozarks' biggest attractions, Beaver Lake, which offers boating, fishing and camping.

The city's form of government is mayor-council with eight aldermen, two from each of four wards. The aldermen are elected through citywide voting.
